    No, not really, although a parent might suspect an ear infection if a child having cold symptoms starts to wake up in the middle of the night crying, refuses to drink from a bottle, or runs a fever for longer than 3 days.

    Playing with ears is not a good indicator of an ear infection, because ear manipulation may plainly feel good to some children and they do it for soothing. Also, pain from teething can be transferred from the jaw to the ears and cause discomfort...

    If you suspect that your child might have an ear infection, take her or him child to see the regular health care provider...
