Help for Dry Skin - All Year Round!

Share/Save/Bookmark

If you have ever experienced dry skin, you know how uncomfortable it can be.

I’ve had eczema since childhood and can tell you all about sleepless nights due to itching, irritated red spots on my belly that distracted me at school as I scratched them all the time, and dry hands that cracked in winter and made me extremely self-conscious.

To battle my eczema, I followed my doctor’s orders of taking warm showers instead of hot baths that might pull moisture out of my alligator-like skin. I applied various salves, prescription and over-the-counter, and tried to increase my water intake to no avail. I changed laundry soap and skin care products to hypoallergenic options, containing no perfume or other irritants. I even got allergy tested to make sure there were no food triggers to my desert-like dry skin!

Nothing. No improvement. No additional useful information gained from testing.

I was ready to throw in the towel and accept the fact that my skin will always itch and look flaky, and that I will never achieve uninterrupted sleep, but my faith changed.

I met a friend who suggested I use Cetaphil Restoraderm body wash and moisturizer. I was skeptical but decided to give it a try. What’s one more attempt to make life at least somewhat itch-free? I am glad that I did!

Cetaphil Restoraderm works great! The itching is gone, my skin is smooth, and the discolored spots due to the constant inflammation have vanished. I still get occasional breakouts, but I treat them with a mild prescription steroid cream and my skin gets back to itch-free smoothness within a day. I read that Cetaphil Restoraderm not only moisturizes the skin, but also stimulates it to produce its own moisture.

Whatever its secret, it worked for me!
